Preparation: Whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, sour cream, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Serve it along with the potato chips or shoe string potatoes. Arugula salad with Gorgonzola and pears

Ingredients required for this easy appetizer are:

Drained and sliced pear halves - 15 oz, reserve 2 spoons of juice

Vinegar dressing and olive oil - 2 spoons

Freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste

Baby Arugula

Crumbled Gorgonzola -4 spoons

Glazed pecans - 4 spoons

Preparation: Whisk together olive oil, the 2 spoons of reserved juice and vinegar dressing in a large bowl. Add pepper and salt to taste. Then, add the arugula and toss it well. Among the 4 chilled salad plates, divide the arugula in portions. On top of each of them, place the pear slices, pecans and Gorgonzola. Serve the dish immediately.

Bread salad

Ingredients required are:

From 8 by 4 inch sourdough - 3 round slices of 1 inch thickness

Olive oil - 4 spoons

Freshly ground pepper and salt to taste

Grape tomatoes - ½ c, halved

Diced red bell pepper - 3 spoons

Peeled and diced English cucumber, seeds removed - ½ c

Minced garlic - 1 spoon

Capers - 1 spoon

Freshly chopped parsley leaves- 2 tsp

Basil leaves, freshly julienned - 3 spoons

Balsamic vinegar -1 ½ spoons

Red wine vinegar - 1 ½ spoons

Crumbled goat cheese - ¼ c

Pitted and flesh diced avocado - 1, cut in half

Preparation: Preheat the grill. With 3 spoons of oil, sprinkle both sides of the bread. Season it with pepper and salt. Grill the bread on both the sides for about 5 minutes nicely, until it becomes somewhat crispy or nicely marked. Remove it from the grill and keep it aside for cooling. Toss together peppers, tomatoes, garlic, cucumber, parsley, capers and basil in a large bowl. Sprinkle the vinegar and the balance 1 spoon of oil. Season this with pepper and salt. Toss it again. Refrigerate it for 20 minutes. When you are ready to serve, slice the bread into 1 inch cubes and top the vegetables up with it. Gently place the goat cheese and avocado on top of it.
