Roast Beef and Mushroom Gravy
For most of us having roast beef usually implies that it is a special occasion. However, with this recipe you will find that making roast beef is simple and can be an everyday meal with little fuss.
Ingredients:
3 lbs beef chuck roast, boneless
2 x 10.75 oz cream of mushroom soup cans, condensed
14 oz beef broth, canned or home made
1/3 cup dry sherry
1 envelope onion soup mix
Directions:
1. Cut the roast in half.
2. Heat a large skillet on medium to high heat and brown the roast on both sides.
3. Place the browned roast inside a slow cooker.
4. Add in the mushroom soup, beef broth, dry sherry and onion soup mix.
5. Cook for 8 to 9 hours on low heat.
Cooking Tip:
It does help to turn the meat once during the cooking process for a more evenly cooked piece of meat
